We are incredibly proud of our first SOPHOMORE to be named a National Siemens Finalist--Many congratulations to Jacqueline Balestrieri on her research “Mitigation of Titanium Dioxide (Ti02) stress and characterization of a punitive brassinosteroid insensitive-1 gene in Lemna minor.”

2017 Siemens Competition Semifinalists

The Siemens Competition is the nation’s premier competition in math, science and technology for high school students. Every year, students submit innovative individual and team research projects to regional and national levels of competition as they vie for college scholarships ranging from $1,000 up to $100,000. The Siemens Competition honors the best and brightest students for their accomplishments in math and science – students who are changing the world for the better.

Saint Anthony's is very proud of three of our Alumni who are serving their fellow Americans in relief efforts in Puerto Rico. The three include Corporal Anthony Caliendo SAHS '13 , USMC who serves as a communications specialist for the 26th Expeditionary Unit, Lieutenant Commander Neil Toohey SAHS '00, USN who serves as a MH-60 helicopter pilot and Commander Farrell Sullivan SAHS '89 who serves as the Commanding Officer of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit. They are proudly serving to save lives and reduce the suffering of their fellow Americans. All three young men credit Saint Anthony's with nurturing their desire to help their fellow man. God Bless, Farrell Neil and Anthony and God Bless the United States.

Friar Alum Luke Ledva participated in a research project this summer at MIT

Friar Alum Ariana Paz, who is currently studying Cognitive Neuroscience and Evolutionary Psychology at Harvard, singing to John Lithgow at The Harvard Arts Medal presentation. Ariana appears at 5:50 in the video! Way to go , Friar!

On March 3rd, the Class of 1977 attended the Alumni Hall of Fame and had a great time!  Inducted into the Hall of Fame were Brother Owen Justinian, Mrs. Lorraine Becker and The Whaley Family. A great night of Friar Spirit!

We were thrilled to have Friar Alum Peter Tracy '79, who works in Suffolk County Crime Lab, visiting Ms. Ferrara and Ms. Roveto's class yesterday and talking about the applications of the Anatomage table. It is great that so many of our Alumni are willing to come and share their knowledge with our current students and teachers!

Congratulations to Friar Alum Phil Armas on his promotion to Captain in the US Navy! We are very proud of you, Phil!
